Just got a faulty one of these (Option 5- yes!!!) and while there's 10 megs
coming out the timebase rear panel connector, it's not counting on any of
the inputs (which is why I got it!)- I have no doumentation as yet, but
checking at a point marked as '-12' on the copper side of the main power
supply pcb, I have negative but close to zero volts-so that is likely the
issue-and in turn almost certain to be a tantalum cap gone bad somewhere I
suppose-dragging the -12 rail down.
But -- can I just pull all the other pcbs out and see what that 'test' point
does? Or do I risk doing something to the microwave converter assy and or
the display, and/or anything else that may still be connected to the power
supply when they are removed?
Advice appreciated.
