[Test-Equipment] Tektronix 547 Question

Hi,

I'm new to this list  - wondering if there are any other Tek 5XX owners
out there ? I'm overhauling a Tek 547 and have encountered a blown
2N2207 transistor. These are replaceable at a hell of a price. The
transistor is used in the flyback suppression circuitry as a switch. I
have replaced it with a 2N3637 and all appears well - but I still have
the nagging feeling that the correct part might work better. Do any of
the list members have experience with this problem ? (Looking at the
circuit, the 2N2207 was operating at about the edge, which probably
accounts for their scarcity.)  - Bryce
