Hi folks:

I ran across a source for the old oval power cords used on early HP, Fluke...

Allied Electronics, 800-433-5700
Allied part# 626-3569 (Volex part 17952) $7.02 ea.

The Volex 17952 is listed as "North-American-Color-Coding." There is an
"international" version with hot and neutral swapped (Volex part 17280).
Who in their right mind ever allowed two versions of a power cord to be
standardized? I looked inside an old HP 5233 counter and a Fluke 8100A dmm
to confirm that the Volex 17952 has the hot on the proper side (though the
other one would likely work, with just the switch and fuse on the neutral
side).

Someone at HP told me that Volex sourced the original cords for them, and
they still make them (in small quantities I presume) -- they don't sell
directly, so you need to go to Allied or another Volex distributor.
