Hi Mark:

And, Jose mentioned that the 8553L does not work with the 8443A TG -- I
have a cal manual that shows the 53L in a 141S frame, and makes no mention
of the TG. Then I saw a rear picture of the 141S, which shows no AUX
connectors for a TG anyway.

So I guess the bottom line is that the 141T frame, and the 8553B or 8554B
RF (and the 8552B IF) plugins, are the top-of-the-line units for covering
the 110 or 1250MHz ranges. Whew! Thanks for helping me sort that out.

Still a couple of questions though:

I'll never need the hi-freq 8455, but I am curious about the 8456 low-freq
plugin. I have a 3580A SA for audio work, and it suits me just fine. But
does the 8556 have any advantages over the 3580 in the audio band (besides
going to a bit higher freq)?

And in what applications would you need to use the LO outputs on the RF
units that have them?

thanks,

gil
