Mark -
This could be a little tricky if you are not familiar with it. Besides
removing the stacking feet, did you also remove the feet on the rear that
allow you to set the unit down on its back? Not all of the units have these
4 feet in the corners but they only take one screw each to remove, you
cannot take the cover off if these feet are on. The cover is held on by one
screw only, on the middle of the rear lip of each cover. These are captive
screws and you will notice that unscrewing them, once you reach the captive
part, forces the covers to move to the rear slightly. Sometimes it does not
move far enough after the screw is totally loose and you physically have to
slide the cover towards the rear just enough to clear the groove in the
front panel into which the cover mated to hold the front of the cover down
secure. Once they are out of that grove then lift the covers up while moving
them back and they should come right off. Good luck, but once you master it
you will not have the problem again, and this is typical for most of the
relatively recent HP stuff. Putting them back is not easy either, as you
have to place the covers on, with the front almost into the grooves.
Typically manual maneuvering helps or even required. Then, you have to make
sure that you get the cover into the grooves while tightening up the screw
in the rear. Seasons Greetings - Mike
