GOT IT!

Right after I pushed the send button on my first reply to John I read his
answer again and realized he had the answer. I peeled off the calibration
sticker and on the back edge of the cover was a captive screw that slid the
cover off a nice as could be!

Thanks John, I have been puzzling over this for a week, and you got it right
away!

Now is someone has the manual and can supply the part number for option 010,
I will be all set!

Thanks to all for putting up with my question!

Hi John,

Thanks for your response John.

Yes I have removed the feet. They are large plastic square ones. They do not
screw on, just slide back and then pop off. There are no screws on the
bottom at all! This thing is different from all the rest of my HP gear.
There is probably a series of equipment that come apart the same as this
counter, but I have not had any experience with it. I have removed every
screw that I can find with no luck!

You've removed the feet from the rear of the counter, right? Most HP gear
of that era just had the two screws in the feet, plus one in the center rear
(possibly under a calibration sticker). I'm not familiar with the plastic
strip you removed from the top -- nothing like that should be necessary?
