I have a nice Model 302 Encoder for sale, with DIN cable. It's gray rather than the black 302R but is functionally the same. Price is $89, shipped USPS Priority Mail to the 48 states.

Power Supply, RF Speech Processor, Communications Speakers,
Coaxial Antenna Switches, Noise Filter, and other
miscellaneous accessories For Sale:

TenTec Switching Power Supply:

"Switcher / 25" 25 amp switching power supply:
This is a 25 amp switching power supply in a case that
matches the early Omni series case, with the metal bezel
around it. It is in a case that is the same size as a 243
remote VFO. It has an ammeter on the front, along with
Switch, TenTec logo, and output bulb. The front panel
basically looks like a 280 power supply with a metal bezel,
but says "Switcher/25" on it. It is very quiet, and well
shielded, and does not produce any electrical noise that
I could find. $140

TenTec 234 RF Speech Processor
The 234 is the predecessor to the 715 speech processor
except it matches the early Omni Series A, B, and C rigs,
and others of that era. It has both a 4 pin plug and a
1/4 inch stereo jack for input. It needs 13 V DC at low
current. It is an extremely effective unit, typically
providing about a 6 db increase in talk power.
With paperwork for $150.

APC Noise Filter and Surge Suppressors:

All of these are still in their original boxes, unused.
All provide noise filtering / EMI / RFI suppression in
addition to surge protection, and have 6 foot cords.
They have a lifetime warranty and $50K to $75K insurance.

PRO 8 T 2
8 outlets. 1120 Joule with two phone line protection.
Detailed specs at
http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=PRO8T2
$75,000 insurance. Only $17.

PRO 7
7 outlets. 1680 Joules. APC's "Top of the line" unit.
Detailed specs at
http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=PRO7
$75,000 insurance. 60 db noise rejection. Only $18.

P 7 T
7 outlets. 840 Joules with a single phone line protector.
Detailed specs at
http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=P7T
$50,000 insurance. Only $12.

Coaxial Antenna Switches:

All work fine, look fine, and use SO-239 connectors.

Waters (B & W) Model 376 Protax Coax Switch:

This five position switch permits all five antennas to be shorted
to ground. It does not short the input connector to ground. This
is the Waters "Protax" series, which grounds all unused antennas
(or all antennas if in the "ground" position.

It accepts PL-259 connectors, with the coax going out like the
spokes of a wheel. There is also a mounting bracket if one would
want to wall mount it.

This one works fine and looks extremely nice.
Paperwork is included for $40.

Two position "Strip Line" Coax Switch:
The MFJ 1702 C switch utilizes metal cavity construction for max
efficiency and high isolation. This two position coax switch has
a new center ground protection! Better than 60 dB isolation at
300 MHz and better than 50 dB at 450MHz. 50 Ohm. The unused
terminal is automatically grounded for static and RF protection.
It has less than 0.2 dB insertion loss and SWR below 1.2:1.
Heavy cavity type construction and SO-239 connectors.
Mounting holes. It looks very close to new.
With paper work for $25.

SCP Comm Switch SC-40-AS Coax Switch
Three position antenna switch in rectangular box. Connectors on
the back. In original box. May be new. $22

Communications Speakers:

Realistic 21-549 A
This speaker is about 4 inches square and about 2 inches
deep. It is rated for 5 watts, has an 8 ohm impedance, and
is listed as a 300 to 3000 Hz frequency response, making it
ideal for communications. It has a 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) mono
plug, as used by most modern rigs. Gimbal mount included.
It is black in color, looks great, and sounds great. $12

Vanco SPB-5
Appears to be the same at above, but with a Vanco label.
Also includes gimbal mount. $12

Vanco SPB-6
Similar to SPB-5 above, but is considered a noise
cancelling speaker. 10 Watt rating. Still in original
box, new. $18

Cables for CW keyers and keys:

Cable for paddles
About 3 feet long, and with a 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) stereo
connector on the end, like used by most rigs. $8
As above, but 1/4 inch plug. $8
As above, with GOLD 1/4 inch plug. $15

Cable for straight key
About 3 feet long, with a mono 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) phone
plug on it, as used with a straight key. $5
As above, but 1/4 inch plug. $5

I also have many other accessories available such as many
different types of microphones, HTs, VHF and UHF rigs,
antennas, etc. Just too many things to list here.
Please e-mail your requests.

Prices do not include shipping from Florida.

Thanks.

Hello-
I went through a really nice Argo #505 that I bought years back. I wanted to replace all of the electrolytics on the PC boards and give it a general check-up. The radio really works well but one issue that it had, from the day I bought it, was the PTO was very non-linear in the top 10%-15% KHz of the tuning range, on all bands. The amount it was off was around 20 KHz at top end of 80 meters (when zeroed at lower end); most of this non-linearity was in the top 75 KHz or so.
Since it was this way on all bands I looked at the PTO itself rather than start trying to re-span the tuning range with the pairs of coil slugs.
When examining the PTO mechanism the non-linearity was occurring on the end of the tuning range where the core was most-withdrawn from the coil.
Sure enough, the coil form had loosened from the 2 plastic holders and moved toward the rear of mechanism, an estimate is slightly less than 1/8". There was some of the coil form protruding beyond the backside of rear plastic holder; I pushed on it with the tip of a small screwdriver until the rear edge of coil form was flush with the rear edge of the black plastic holder-I could tell by the appearance of the portion of coil form that moved out of the mounting hole (of black plastic holder front edge) that I had the form the way it originally was. I temporarily powered up the radio and made a quick check of the dial tracking (had to adjust on cores some) but saw real quick this was the fix so I glued the PTO form in place with a small amount of cement.
After re-adjusting the cores some the PTO linearity is about as good as can be had with these sets; zeroed at bottom edge of band it was off about max 3 to 5 KHz max anywhere else in said band 80-15 meters.
By the way, I cannot find any info on the correct way to tune the pairs of PTO tracking coil slugs. I have been using the bottom core to adjust for zero beat at "zero" on tuning dial and the top core to adjust the span (zero beat at "500" on tuning dial). Anybody know if this is how Ten-Tec did it?
Thanks, Byron WA5THJ

TenTec RF Speech Processor, Power Transformer, HF linear
amplifier, and other miscellaneous accessories For Sale:

TenTec 234 RF Speech Processor

The 234 is the predecessor to the 715 speech processor.
It matches the early Omni 545/546 Series A, B, and C rigs, Delta,
and others of that era, but of course can be used with any rig,
since it simply inserts in the microphone line.

This is an extremely effective unit, typically providing about a
6 db increase in talk power. That is about the same as a linear
amplifier -- at much less cost.

It has both a 4 pin plug and a 1/4 inch stereo jack for input,
and needs 13 V DC at low current. With paperwork for $150.

Heath SB-220 HF Linear Amplifier:

The SB-220 uses a pair of 3-500 tubes to deliver close to legal
limit output on the 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 meter bands. It is a
proven design that has been copied by many others.

This SB-220 works fine and looks very close to new, with no known
defects. In addition, it has had most of the Harbach improvements
added including a new set of computer grade filter capacitors with
improved equalizing/bleeder resistors, new metering/rectifier board,
"Soft Key" board to reduce keying voltages and currents, glitch resistor,
protective diodes, new HV metering resistors, new fan, and more.
It produces in the vicinity of 1200 Watts output, depending on band.
The input circuit has low SWR to match your rig. This is a really
nice amp. Please call or e-mail for more details.

With paper work for $950. Pickup near Ocala, FL, just off of I-75,
would be preferred. Shipping can be arranged if needed.

Power Transformer for TenTec Hercules 444 HF linear amplifier

This power transformer is used with the older Hercules 444 HF
linear amplifier (not the newer Hercules II). It includes the
molex plug, so that it will simply plug into the 444. This is
a "spare" transformer that was never used.

The Hercules 444 provided 48 to 50 volts DC at up to 25 amps
to produce about 1000 to 1200 watts DC input in order to get
600 watts of RF out. This transformer is roughly a 7 inch cube,
so is a very healthy transformer of approximately 1250 VA, if
someone wants to use it for another project. $75

Original box for TenTec 2591, Two meter HT, including the
foam insert. $8

Cables for CW keyers and keys:

Cable for paddles
About 3 feet long, and with a 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) stereo
connector on the end, like used by most rigs. $8
As above, but 1/4 inch plug. $8
