Hi Dave,
I'm a little confused on your comment on the OMNI VII. I don't understand what you mean that there is no independent control for VFO B.  B can be controlled just a A as far as frequency goes.  I love my Omni VII as it's the best I have had in my 55 years and I have had quite a few Ten-Tec's as well as others.

David,

I am on the ten tec reflector at contesting.com and agree the ten tec net
stuff is over running all the reflectors.  I ahve no interest in the nets or
certificates
and do not approve of ten tec using the nets to market their gear.

I have has several ten tec pieces of gear starting with the Triton IV and on
my third 229 tuner.  My interest now is expanding to 6 meters and digital
(psk and real FSK rtty.  This leaves out the Orions but when you made your
post I pulled out the Omni VII review in the 2007 QST.

Reading the review I am still lukewarm on the Omni VII.  6 meters is a plus
and it appears the VII handles digital OK.  My pet peave with the middle of
the road gear is that there is no independent control for VFO B.  At least
the VII shows the frequency of VFO B.  I hate SSB voive equalizers, too.
