[TenTec] Transverter 1208

I build one of these for sight impaired ham a while back.
As I recall the MDS (minimum discernable signal) was pretty good. At least
it was better than my Ten Tec 6N2 rig. However there is an input
attenuator that is always in the circuit so it affects both transmit and
receive paths through the transverter. When using the 1208 the front end
noise figure is set by the transverter and not the noise figure of your HF
transceiver. There is plenty of conversion gain. You may even find it
necessary to turn on the input attenuator of your HF rig if it has one.
The 1208 will "support" any feature that is in your driver/transceiver so if
you have split VFO capability now it will continue to work just fine.
