Hi folks,
I just bought a Triton IV, to relive my first "modern day" rig. I had
bought a Triton IV back in abt 1976, used it a lot, even mobile. Have had
at least 1 Ten Tec xcvr ever since. This one is kinda ratty, but was
cheap. I had in mind using the IF & audio stages in another rcvr project
I've been contemplating for a cupla yrs, but thought it oughta be fairly
easy to get it on the air.
The PTO is very stiff, and may not be oscillating, not sure abt that
yet, have only had 12v at 200ma available at first. (more is close by)
The dial cord was broken, and I don't know if the shaft's been twisted too
far one way, so oughta get inside for a look.
I know T-T has a kit, with instructions, for rebuilding the early
PTO's, and that some guys have just dug in and done it without kits.
Removal of the PTO is not quite intuitive to my eye, does anyone have any
tips or a Ten Tec instruction sheet? I'll admit, I haven't spent more
than abt 3 minutes at any one time on the rig, so I haven't really applied
myself.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
