Hi to all,
I have received and installed a 2.8khz filter in the first IF of my Omni
V. I then moved the stock TT 2.4khz to the narrow position. I'm not
sure this addition does much for the receive audio or weak signal copy.
It also seems that the transmit audio is not improved much. My
original thinking was that you need the 2.8 in both IF's to make a
receive audio difference, so maybe thats somewhat confirmed.
Before I experiment further, I have a question for the group. I noticed
that when the narrow button is pushed and the stock TT is in series with
the INRAD, I loose 2 "S" units in signal. The gain jumper is in the
right place on the board. It would appear that the small amp that kicks
in when the narrow button is pushed does not offset the filter losses.
By the way, it does appear that the carrier balance is OK....or is it?
Any comments?
