Gus, I have the breaker installed so I am safe.
The breaker does not trip since the SWR is less than 1.5 on both the
Butternut vertical and the Butternut beam.
Seems that the OMNI V does not like what it sees on the Butternut's.
On the G5RV on 10 meters I get 95 watts out.
On the Butternut's I only get 80.
The only thing different in line is the switch box and yes I changed the coax
from the Butternut post on the switch box to where the G5RV was connected to.
Power on the Bird watt meter did not change.
I think the Butternut design is at fault not the rig.
Just for fun I hooked up my Corsair II and it puts out about 15 watts less on
10 meters on the Butternut's as compared to the G5RV.
I also hooked up an old Heath SB401 and it got 10 watts less on 10 than on
when on the Butternut's.
I think that the G5RV is a better antenna and that the 15 watts of power are
being lost at the antenna.
Could be that the rigs do not like the doorknobs on those Butternut's.
Oh well, maybe NASA can explain it cause I can't.
Thanks,
Dan/N4VET
