[TenTec] Triton IV

I have a friend, not on the computer, that has inhearited a Triton, the
digital model. It works mostly except when turning the dial to change the
freq. it does not always rotate at a steady rate and sometimes won't go the
length of the band. Is this a common fix?? Is it expensive to fix?? Your
input, as always, is greatly appreciated.
