The KQ6Q post which deals with QRP and BPL makes a good point.
I would like to correct what I believe to be a misconception with respect
to minimum power.
Part 97.313(a) "An amateur station must use the minimum transmitter power
necessary to carry out the desired communications."
If the desired communications is a strong, easy to copy, signal, QRP
would not meet the requirement, in many cases.
To each his own, you may run a half watt or a half kilowatt if that is
what it takes to "carry out the desired communications."
Based on the information we now have, don't know what the actual
experience shows, there is no doubt more power will be needed to deal
with the expected side effects. As the transmitter power increases,
there would seem to be a point where a showdown takes place between the
two services, I would not bet on amateur radio being the winner.
