[TenTec] Omni V Mic Gain

I have an Omni V and run a TT 705 mic with it.  I have to run the mic =
gain with that mic at about 1-2:00 to get proper tx audio out.  I also =
have a heil hm10/hc5.  After getting the cable and connectors set up and =
the mic plugged in, I had to run the mic gain wide open to get any, =
repeat any decent audio out. =20

Is there a mod to the TX audio board that will give me more mic gain?  I =
called TT and they said what I have is all I can get.  (called on this =
twice-basically same answer).  I refuse to accept that until further =
convinced.

I guess the thing that keeps sticking in my craw, is that with my older =
corsair and omni C, I ran the gain at about 10:00 for proper alc action =
and both worked fine with several mics.  Those radios had plenty of gain =
available.

Any mod ideas would be appreciated.  Rather not reinvent the wheel, so =
to speak.
