It's been announced and discussed, though mainly on the "other" reflector.

The Omni VI+ series is gone. Coming soon: Orion.

And, to quote W4PA: "Information on the Orion transceiver is now posted to
the
Ten-Tec web site. The URL is www.tentec.com/TT565.htm"

Subject: [TenTec] Omni VI+ No More?

Did I miss something on the TenTec Mailing List? I had some local hams
over to see my Ten-Tec Omni VI+ in operation, and they went home to look
up the TenTec web page. One of them emailed me later in the day and told
me that the Omni VI+ is discontinued. I went to the TenTec page myself,
and sure enough, that's what it says. Was this announced and I just
missed it among all my emails?

Is TenTec coming out with a newer replacement high-end rig? Maybe
something that will include the new 5 MHz ham band, if that ever comes
through? Or are all they are planning to make is Jupiter, etc. kinds of
PC-controlled radios and Scouts from now on?

I really have come to appreciate that nice quiet receiver, the great
QSK, etc. in my Omni VI+. I know their support of equipment that's no
longer made is great, but I'd sure hate to see them get out of the
high-performance HF rig market.
