[TenTec] Omni V Problems

While idling in receive mode, my Omni V did what appeared to be a
spontaneous re-set.  VFO's went to default freqs, etc., and now the
transmitter is dead.  I did the hard re-set - no difference.  It is
possible to hear the Tx in another receiver at a very low level, but the
PA is not coming on.   The Ten Tec service folks can't offer any help
and just say "send it back", but I thought I'd try here first to see if
anyone has has had a similar experience.
