The headphone output on my Scout is listed in the manual at 600 ohms, and I have
no set of phones even close to that value. The manual suggests padding the
phones plug (not the jack) with resitors to obtain a reasonably close match to
mass market 8/16/32 ohm stereo headphones, but doesn't say how to do this.

Do I use a 300 ohm resistor on each phone lead, or a 600 on one side? Do I wire
it/them in series, or across (and would that be across the left/right, or one
resitor across *each* pair of wires?)? I are confused!
