NCTECH 2004 Committee meeting on January 10 2004
North Texas Emergency Communicators Hamfest
Scheduled to take place on November 13 2004.
At the City of Azle Texas, activities will include

The First meeting of the Fest Committee members was held at 9 am at the
Bluebonnet=20
Caf=E9 in downtown Azle. Lasting two hours.
=20

FEST WILL CONSIST OF:
Indoor/outdoor swap fest.

We want only one entry point pass thru to access the fest.=20
We ask Mark Clark [k5psb] and Chris Brewer [nsgmj] and Jerry Buxton
[nojy] controlled=20
the access point during 2003 fest. And we ask them to do this again for
the 2004=20
fest.

A sign in sheet will be used to register attendees of the fest and
will/should be
controlled by the persons in item (1) above. Turning over this roster
to a NCTECH=20
committee member or the club president at the end of the fest to assist
in the planning=20
next years meeting.=20
Pricing will be the same as last year:=20
Admission Fee $4. Free under age 12. Free parking.=20
Vendor tables $5 including one free admission per table.=20
Tailgate space free with paid admission. Door prizes given every half
hour.=20

Vendors-only barbeque dinner and set-up Friday at 6:00 PM.

On January 05, 2004. Thomas [kd5uep] reserved from the City of Azle the
following=20
facilities.
The Emanuel building for 12 Nov 04 beginning at 1700 hrs [5 pm] until
2100 hrs (9pm)
The Clark building for 13 Nov. beginning at 0600 hrs [6 am] thru 1500
hrs [3 pm].

David Johnson [kb5ylg] stated that he has already applied for the NCTECH
Ham Fest=20
for the =93ARRL=94 Sanction.=20
=20
We talked about expanding the tailgate area. It will be along the road
by the JB=20
Clark Bldg and towards the park. Not down in the low area where water
stands after=20
rains.

David Johnson [kb5ylg] and Terry Henderson [kj5zr] will update the
clubs Web Site.

We need club members to help in setting up before the fest and clean up
after it=20
is over the more involved the better. Friday Night from 5 pm thru 9 pm.

(Folding tables and Chairs are stored in the buildings for our use), No
rentals=20
was used in 2003.

CJ Bishop [kd5nxg] will generate a letter to all club members, to inform
each of=20
all known events to happen this year and encourage us all to participate

as able. And encourage them to participate in our NCTECH 2004

Thomas Dunn (kd5uep) will contact a Donut / coffee shop to see about
setting-up=20
and serving items like cold soft drinks and Donuts for the smallest
charge, and=20
free coffee during the 2004 fest.=20

We need club members that visit other NCTECH Ham fest to notice how they
are set=20
up and what special items they may have seen. Get vendor business cards
and any=20
data that you consider nice that might help make our FEST one of the
better ones.=20
Any information gathered can be handed in during our monthly meetings.

We need to check out the Local Radio stations and provide them with our
information=20
on events or club activities. The stations are: FM 89.1 & FM 89.9 & FM
99.5 in=20
particular.=20

Press Releases to the local newspapers, =93Azle News=94 =93Springtown =

are always=20
needing items that are club or service related.

The thought of rain conjured up the idea of a 30 x 40 or a 30 x 60 ft.
General Purpose=20
Army Tent supplied by the local Army Reserve Unit; - David Johnson will
look into=20
it. A tent could be used as follows:
Used in the special events area
Used as a vendor overflow area
Paul Finch thought that a sting of lights could easily be strung in the
tent. Paul=20
will look into this.

David Johnson, will talk with the Azle fire chief, Mr. Will Scott about
setting=20
up a CPR Class.
Note: The Radio Room in the Fire Department is not set up because of
remodeling.
Fred Muehlen will send his notes to everyone on NCTECH 2003 event.
Paul Finch Will see if he can get the Jaws of Life Demonstration for
2004
CJ Bishop thought that some booths especially for ladies would be nice,

will check with the local ladies shops to see if there is an interest.
Do we want the special events to be inside or outside the building?=20
