I have got an AX.25 Packet Maildrop back on the air in
unattended mode.
It's on 145.07MHz FM.
For those who don't know, it's like a miniature
Bulletin Board System and Message drop on the air.
I have noticed about 10 to 20 other drops in the local
area on the same frequency.
This one is broadcasting a beacon every 20 minutes,
and has the name WC5C, the maildrop is WC5C-1, and the
digipeater is AZLE (or WC5C).
I noticed the Packet Radio TNC's on Ebay are going
pretty cheap, around $50 - $75 generally...
One of those with a PC and a radio, and you'll have
your own Packet station.
There's been some interest in getting NTS on to
packet, maybe Mark K5PSB or some one will hop in here
and talk to us about that?
