NCTECH Committee Notes by Fred N5WLA, and contribution by david KB5YLG
and Thomas KD5UEP

We have less than 7 weeks to prepare for NCTECH. The following are
notes from the NCTECH committee's 9/20 meeting. We will be having
weekly nets on Saturday mornings at 0800 on 147.16 MHz to report
progress and coordinate activities. These will be directed nets,
beginning with a roll call for committee members. We will then take
other check-ins, for those wanting to assist with the hamfest. We still
need plenty of help in all areas. If you can help in any way, please
contact any of the committee members; we'll take any and all assistance.

Attendees:
KB5YLG, KD5UEP, N5WLA, WD5ILB, KJ5ZR. KC5SLQ checked in on 2 meters.

The following topics were covered:

Special Events Station: K5PSB agreed to coordinate these activities.
Consensus was that having the club trailer (with its sign prominently
displayed) located on the service road in sight of Hwy 199 would help
to increase public awareness of amateur radio in Azle. Some discussion
centered around the possibility of an NTS station to send messages for
the public.

Advertising to local clubs: KC5SLQ has sent flyers to all area clubs,
including those in southern OK.

VE Test Session: KM5TT will be coordinating the test session at NCTECH.

Free parking should accommodate 250 - 300 vehicles.

Programs:
KB5YLG will contact TU Electric for Power Demo
N5WLA will contact Roy Rabey to see if he or members of his staff will
be available for presentations

Security: N5WLA and KJ5ZR

Net Announcements: N5WLA will make announcements on local nets.

Vendor Reservations: WD5ILB, KD5UEP will coordinate vendor
reservations.

Jubilee Enterprises has already signed up for several tables.

ARRL NTX Section has already requested we display ARRL materials.

Food: ??? Scouts?? Paul??

Will Chris N5GMJ coordinate an APRS-for-emergenxy-comm program?

Is there any interest in the club conducting an RDF fox hunt?
