Okay, it appears that I need to step in here and try to end this confusion.
Mark absolutely did take copious notes at the meeting. He also sent out a
message the next day detailing what the needs were and what the
organization was going to be this year, which, it would appear, some of us
did not read. Lets try again with some special emphasis this time.
We are NOT having stations assigned to particular bands this year. We are
trying something different. We will assign band plans when we know how
many transmitters we are running. What we ARE going to have is as many
stations as we have OPERATORS signed up for 4 hour shifts to operate.
Therefore, asking for volunteers to sign up to set up stations is
superfluous. So far, with the exception of the 2 people who have already
signed up to set up stations, we have NO volunteers to operate radios. Let
me repeat that for emphasis: WE NEED RADIO OPERATORS TO SIGN UP FOR 4 HOUR
SHIFTS. That's what we need. So far, we are not getting it.
Now, let us review our "needs" as expressed in an earlier message:
> > HF Station Managers/Providers:
NONE This is taken care of. We have 2 (possibly 3) station managers
already assigned and they are responsible for seeing that it happens. I
have every confidence that it will
> > GOTA Rig: ??
This is a need, but one that is entirely secondary to the main purpose. I
hope someone signs up to provide this.
> > Satellite rig: ??
This is not a need. If someone wants to do this, okay. If not, okay.
> > Digital Rig: ??
This is taken care of. It is also not a need, but it's taken care of anyway.
> > VHF/UHF: ??
This is not a need. If someone wants to do this, okay. If not, okay.
Generators/Food/Logging/Etc is pretty much taken care of. Please refer to
my earlier message for details.
Now let's come back around to the one NEED we have that is not being
met. WE NEED RADIO OPERATORS TO SIGN UP FOR 4 HOUR SHIFTS. That's what we
need. As far as I'm concerned, that's pretty much all we need.
Don't delay. Sign up today!
