I agree on the fad-based antennas - less than little faith!

Kurt and Stan said it was great into EU when we took it up there for CQ 
WW SSB.   It was guyed with, I believe 3 or 4 ft stakes in a high wind
storm and stayed up.
The verticals that VE7SV stayed up, didn't they?  And they were 80 M
1/4 wave verticals, weren't they?

I believe the BC Special might be easier to pack than the Butternuts - the 
Butternuts have those coils that you don't want to smash!

Would the two verticals be better on 40 than a two element inverted V
wire beam on the K4TMC masts?

I've always heard the HF2V and HF6V's with the 160 kit are about like
big long dummy loads.
