VE7SV mentioned not needing beverages because everything was so quiet on
160 meters.

However, at home my 300' beverage makes the difference between hearing
and not hearing. I rarely listen on the vertical at all. We could run
300' towards the ocean...being careful to put it high enuff so we don't
have a revisit of the horse incident. BTW I will being some yellow "Do
not cross-Police line" tape.

A EWE or a Pendant antenna might also do us good.

It's always good to have directivity on transmit antennas. On 40 I'd
still like to consider a pair of 2 element vertical beams in
parrallel....spaced 5/8 wave...each with a reflector tuned to ground.
My motto at home is "45 degrees is everything"....the bigger the sig
into Europe the better. The number of 10 watt OK's that you will work
if they hear you louder is worth it. East Coasters typically work 90%
of contacts in Europe.

BTW W8WA says no, but mentioned K8LV mite be interested. DL2HBX and
K8GT are showing interest. Nothing back from N8ET yet.
