Greg, You can take a look on that website that was posted earlier, but
offhand I'd say that IF it's a football field length to the water, it's
sure no more than that, at least at "high tide".

I have "Keyhole" which allows me to view the island in good resolution from 
satellite images. The distance from the very north tip of the motel to the 
waterline is 245 feet.  The distance from the center of the motel (main 
entrance) is 325 feet. The distance from the very south tip of the motel to 
the shoreline is 260 feet. Looks like Jeff has a good sense of distance!

The berm appears to be about 180 feet out from the motel on average.

If any of you would like me to e-mail any images of the island/community/or 
close-in view of motel (sorry, not close enough to read the "fermé pour la 
saison" sign at the door), let me know and I shall send 'em off. Of course, 
I cannot post them to this group over the reflector.

BTW, the "airstrip" appears to be about 3100 feet in length :)  And there is 
no forested ravine to stop an overshoot.......
