According to the book Ham Equipment Buyer's Guide
copyright 1972 the Swan 250C is

Updated version of the Swan 250.  Includes selectible
USB/LSB, "S" meter, and has the 250 KHz calibrator
built-in, also improved calibration, frequency
readout.  Use internal VFO or split frequency with
optional 210 remote VFO.

The Swan 250 was USB only, and had an accessory socket
for adding either a 500 KHz crystal calibrator or a
VOX.
