Understand the situation your are dealing with.
 You need to trace out the power supply circuit  so you can see what needs 
to be done to make the transformer good again.
Also you may need new filter capacitors 100 uf 450 vdc (TV shop?)

OK Greg, buy a new transformer or a power supply plus shipping to
Argentina is very expensive.
I speak with a friend electrician and go to try rewind the transformer.

Here in the US, yes,  that is the usual solution.  Swan power supplies
are plentiful. A Drake AC3 or AC4 will also work but you need to re-wire
the DC connector.
I suggest you build your own supply or buy a used one from Ebay or
someone.
Ebay also has transformers. Eventually the kind you need will show up.
