One supplier of replacement power transformers is a company called Peter

Unfortunately, their catalog only lists a transformer for the 117XC power
supply for the Swan 350, on this page under "S":

So yes, your cheaper alternative is to find another power supply on eBay.
They typically go for less than $100.

I don't know which power supply was specified for use with the 500CX, though.
