[Standard] 5608 Turn Off Problem

I have a 5608 that recently received water damage.  It was submerged for an hour or two while connected to 12VDC.  After removing it from the vehicle and allowing it to dry out, it didn't turn on or do anything.  I let it sit for a few more days.  While probing around near the from panel, I apparently hit something that caused it to turn on (and a master reset).  It appears to have some functionality now, it receives on VHF, receives with some sort of distortion on UHF, etc. but it won't turn off.  Neither the remote turn off on the microphone nor the front panel switch will turn it off.  Disconnecting power will obviously turn it off.  Reapplying 12V will momentarily turn it on and then off.  Using either the remote switch or front panel switch, I can then turn it on, but not off.  Anyone have any clues or suggestions?  I am thinking maybe I should do an intentional reset, but I have forgotten how to.
