Yeah... the use of the word "emergency" - even if followed by a "(?)" - in relation to a numbers station will always spark curiosity and surge adrenaline.  That's why I asked if it was live (as in "human") or Memorex (as in "Señorita Cibernética").

In your sojourns through the vast digital wasteland that is the Information Toll Road you may have come across the "Conet Project" series of recordings.  If so, give a moment or two to tune in to the recording named "Moscow Coup Attempt".  IMNSHO, *that* is a prime example of an "emergency".  

All in all, s'okay: no harm, no foul, no coup d'etat in progress, Pedro gets a chuckle, and we're kept on our toes :-)

With respect to the degree of change of the message headers in relation to a streak of similar message headers, this is not uncommon.  Prolonged similarity followed by radically different headers has happened at least twice before (Dec. '12 to Jan. '13 and Sep. to Oct. '13 if memory serves).  I hate to make predictions because my average is under 50/50, but based on the last two "stagnant streaks" (for want of a better description) I suspect that a schedule change will be forthcoming by March.

Finally, about reception: bear in mind that HM01 (& Co.) have to travel past Miami & D.C.'s radio interference to make it to NYC (which is even more noisier), and compete with the ionosphere for good propagation conditions, *and* beware solar weather (let alone sleet, snow, hail, and gloom of night), *AND* (as if that weren't enough) needs to be strong enough a signal so that your receiver can receive it.  AND if you live in a steel structure (think high-rise & projects), you're living inside a [weak] Faraday Cage!

(And they say getting Havana cigars is tough!)
