[Spooks] Korean Traffic

Thanks Ary and Token,
I probably should've mentioned that I'm in Alaska and that's probably
contributing to my difficulty receiving much from the Korean penninsula,
given their respective transmit azimuths and power.
>From my brief lurking here as well as my other poking around, it sounds as
if I would greatly benefit from throwing away my Grundig Satellit 750 and
getting a good Software Defined Radio. It sounds like the ability to
record a given timeslice of bandwidth for later exploration is extremely
useful. Any SDR recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
For what it's worth I would love to hear recommendations for anything
FreeBSD/Linux related. I've seen a couple of FreeBSD packages that decode
RTTY/PSK*/MFSK* and other digital modes, and I'm curious if anyone here
has had any experience with them. I've heard a few polytone transmissions
and wonder if they're numbers stations, but I'm guessing it's probably
nothing more than the dry cleaning request of a senior naval officer
somewhere. I'd love to be able to see if it translates to 5fg or plain
text.
Thanks,
Mike
