[Spooks] IRC Chat

We've occasionally discussed on the list the idea of setting up regular
chats on IRC for folks to meet and discuss numbers in real-time.

The ideal place for this would be the #monitor channel on IRCNet. A lot of
us (Ben, Tom, myself, and others) already hang out there when we're
online. Many of us in the US use the globali.us.ircnet.net server, outside
the US you have more servers. irc.stealth.net was also heavily used, but
went down in the 9/11 attack, I am not sure if it is back up.

A lot of newcomers to the hobby have a tough time hearing numbers
stations. IRC provides dozens of "ears", all tuning the bands, we can spot
and ID transmissions very quickly, allowing others to be directed to
them, and hear them as well.

Is anyone interested in starting up weekly chats? Weekend nights (Fri or
Sat) are usually best, as most of us can be up later, when there is more
activity on the bands. (Although you'll find a lot of us there most
anytime!)
