[SOC] Is EQSL purposely trying to upset their user base?

I've been a loyal member of the eQSL.CC QSL service since 2003. I even
sent them $20 back then for a Silver (?)  membership which I was led to
believe was a lifetime membership. Then they started to require
continuing payments to retain my existing membership status. I felt
cheated and swore to never give them any additional money.  They did
allow me to retain my custom eQSL graphic.  I am now a "Regular" member.

I have no real need for awards and don't chase after any stations, DX or
otherwise.  I only QSL for the benefit of the other ham in the QSO.  So
I enter many of my QSO's in eQSL and also LOTW.  And in eQSL, I
frequently check my inbox and either accept or reject any eQSLs that I
receive.  I have AG status and take QSLing seriously.

Tonight I checked my standings for the eWAS award. Though I almost had
enough confirmed eQSOs for the award, the web site now was showing that
all my QSO's that had previously been confirmed now required me to
reconfirm the QSO's due to Rule 10a that was adopted earlier this year
and is now taking effect in September.  Reconfirming requires me to
generate a new eQSL to the other station, typing in date, time, etc.
eQSL already had that info from the first time!   And the QSO's had
already been confirmed by both stations.  It's as if they lost the
confirmations in their database!

Forget about me and my awards.  What about the other guy?  Does he lose
the confirmations that I gave him for his award?
