Somehow when he found that piece of electronics which he later found
out came from the space capsule of the man calling him on 18 MHz
(first on 20m), a time warp was entered.
He was talking to the man who's capsule had crashed, so he tried to
help him fix the defect that would cause the crash.
That might explain why you saw the dog he was looking for safe inside
but moments later outside. Time warp.
