[SOC] Revelation!

Hello fellow ham radio knuckleheads,

 

After seeing lots of posts with SOC-ers' membership numbers, I got curious
as to what mine is..so I goes back into by "filing system" (manila folders
{thought for years they were called vanilla folders, after their color}),
which is pretty SOC-ish, as it's all paper ham-stuff in one big drawer in a
lateral file cabinet (ooooh, ain't that modern?) arranged  by the "last time
I looked at it goes in front" system. I got one of those pre-coffee-stained
downloadable SOC fill-it-in-yourself certificates a while ago and there it
was in my bulletproof filing system, in a thrice-recycled manila folder.

 

Of course, being a proud member of the SOC, it's not framed or thumb-tacked
or chewing-gum stuck to the wall as it should be (no room for it on a wall -
all walls are filled up with coax switches, nails (my headphone storage
system), pictures with me and my J-38 (and later a bug) with a Globe Chief
from the early years, my Moon Pie clock, and my "that says it all" plaque,

 

In days of old, when men were bold

And sideband not invented,

The word was passed 

By pounding brass

And all were quite contented

 

but proudly buried with all the other priceless things we collect.

 

Feeling uncharacterizably organized (oh, the shame of it!),
