[SOC] Digital crowding (and other myths)

Spent some hours the past two days looking for crowding on the prime CW
territory on 20M, 14.000 to 14.065MHz.

Except for the W1AW signals at 14.0475, mostly you could shoot off a cannon
loaded with grapeshot in that spectrum and hit nothing — CW, digital, or
red-nosed reindeer.

14.065 to 14.095 consistently held a few scattered little colonies of
digital signals. Then from there to 14.350 a great swath of silence except
for a lonely soul at 14.300 “keeping the frequency clear” in anticipation
of a great maritime disaster.
