Hi gang,
Well it's the Holiday season again and once more I've waited until it
was cold enough to put the holiday lights up outside of the house.
Seeing as though I have had a lot of these lights quite a while, about
half of them have the older plug and half the newer one (by that I mean
some have the plugs where both prongs are the same size and some have
one prong larger than the other ).
I'm not quite sure what you call this phenomenon, but I call it a pain
in the rear! Particularity when it comes to trying to plug a new male
into an old female. Because the new plug is too large for the older
receptical.
My solution is to "modify" a newer extension cord by clipping the cord's
offending male prong down to a smaller size that will fit into the
female end of older string of lights. The female end of the extension,
cord, being newer will accept either a new or old string of lights.
So, my question to this learned group is: Will my house burn down?
Thanks,
Tom WB2QDG
