HOWEVER...
If the Batsman or Bowler are "All Rounders" (that's a different game altogether) then each may bat when their side is batting, and bowl when their side is fielding, but never at the same time, although when not bowling during their sides' fielding phase they too will be fielding when not actually bowling.
If during the agreed TIME LIMIT - 3 days for a championship match; 5 days for an International TEST match; nobody wins then a DRAW shall be declared.
If one side has scored enough runs whilst they were in and judge that they can get the other side Out twice whist they are in, then they can make a "Declaration" (Declare) with wickets still standing, and put the other side in (hoping to bowl them out twice before they pass the score set). In this case if the second side don't make 2 thirds of the score set when they have all been bowled out (1) then they MUST "follow on" and go in again. If they do exceed 2 thirds of the "declared" score set by the first side they can make the first side bat again. If they make a total above the original score and want to win the match, but time is short - they may declare also and make the first side bat - in the hope of getting them all out before the end of play, and with a score total less than their own.
"Short" Game 50, 40, 20 "Overs" per side - Not really crikit is it? None of the above is really relevant.

Well - the batsman may never bowl and the bowler may never bat, but the batsman may be on the bowling side by being out and the bowler may be on the batting side by being in. The fielders and bowler will shout "owzat" if they think they have the batsman out. A decision is then made by the umpire as to whether the batsman is out or in.
It's easy really.
I like your R/O's group, my last ship GVYG
