[SOC] Found in the shack ---what is it??

Thanks for the feedback, as it turns out the coil; is part of a St. Louis
Vertical antenna which I bought quite a few years ago. In true SOC fashion,
I should report that I also have a "Sunny Day SD-20" fiberglass fishing pole
in the corner of the shack (I'm not a fisherman). It seems that the pole is
used to hold the radiating portion of the vertical...so that's another
mystery solved.
OK, the coils and the fishing pole go in a prominent corner of the shack
while I contemplate building it for a few more years (ahhh, maybe I'll give
it a try).
Thanks to all for your help
