How one takes their grits is a contentious issue in the south of the US.

Some like it sweet, some with butter, some with milk and sugar. Even with
fried onions. I hadn't heard of putting molasses in them, but I'll bet
that's good. I've even had them with hot peppers, which is probably dumb,
but that's why I'm SOC.

My own view is that grits is (or is it Grits are?) so good, the important
part is to eat 'em, no matter how.
