In the State of Arizona, I have the right to protect my property, and the
lives of the people residing in my house. As such, if someone enters my home
by force, or without my permission, I have the ability to defend my family
and property. By deadly force if necessary. This has been validated many
times in Arizona. This also holds true when you are in your car, on the
street or in a store.
We have the right to defend ourselves, unlike a majority of the U.S. and the
world.
Three examples, the first two from AZ, the third from Chicago.
A passenger attempts to rob a cab driver by knife point; The cabbie draws
his personal weapon, shoots and kills the robber. No charges filed against
the cabbie, as the shooting was in self defense.
Two men invade a home, the home owner shoots both intruders. One dies at the
scene, the other is still in the hospital. No charges files against the
homeowner as the shooting was in self defense.
Two gang members invade an elderly female's residence and attempt to rob and
rape her. The woman was in her 60's, and shot both intruders. The elderly
paraplegic woman was charged with manslaughter, possession of a firearm and
discharging a firearm within the city limits.
But, if you do not agree with LEGAL, law abiding citizens having the ability
to own and carry firearms, and defend themselves and their property; then I
will respect your will and not use mine to defend you if the time ever
arises.
My definition of gun control is being able to hit your target. A lot of
others define gun control as no one but the government owns guns. This
worked particularly well for the likes of Hitler, Stalin, Castro, Chavez,
Mao; the list goes on and on.
