[SOC] OT: W4M Special Event Station W4B operating from the Heart of Georgia Hamfest - 13 May 06

Special Event Station W4M will be operating from the Heart of Georgia
Hamfest in Byron, Georgia from (approximately) 1200 - 2000z on 13 May 06. 
We will operate PSK-31 on 20 meters and SSB on a frequency to be determined
by propagation and interference with our PSK-31 station.  We have scheduled
a 20 May rain-date for this event.  

The special event commemorates the 2nd annual Heart of Georgia Hamfest and
the spirit of cooperation between the 5 area clubs (Macon Amateur Radio
Club, Central Georgia Amateur Radio Club, Middle Georgia Radio Association,
Milledgeville Amateur Radio Club, and the Macon-Bibb EMA Amateur Radio
Group.  Mr. Johnny Wingers, WX4R, Director of the Macon-Bibb County EMA, has
generously allowed us to utilize his command post vehicle for the special
event operations.  

We are in the process of developing a certificate for the operation.  QSL
will be via WM4B and will require only an SASE for response.

of the page.  If time permits, I will update the website wtih additional
information regarding the special event station.  Talk in will be available
as required on the 146/25/85 repeater (no PL required).

Fast food is available within walking distance of the hamfest site as well. 


Other area attractions include the Robins Air Force Base Museum of Aviation
