[SOC] Off Topic: Ideas for club programs

Off topic? Off topic? I didn't think nothing was steenking off topic
here (except religion and republicans)

One problem I've seen with the program first is after the program a lot
of people will leave before the
(ugh) business part of the meeting!

Suggestions ......
1 Look at NCDXF video list and try to get a DXpedition video.
2 Download the latest BPL movie from www.arrl.org
3 There is a BC-610 movie that can be downloaded - cool for the old
timers and shows the younger hams what it was.
4 Find the local Winlink / ARES guru to do a program
5 Call the ARRL Section Manager or EC or Division Director / Vice
Director to do a talk
6 Find a local gung-ho QRP'er who has access to one of the PowerPoint
programs
7 We have had the local electric company come in and do a show on how
high voltage can cook a hot dog ..... and people, too. These days you
might get them to talk about BPL! :-D
8 If there are no YL's or XYL's, Cindy Margolis might come to your club
and put on a show
9 OK ..... scratch #8

There's a few ..... Beats the H out of sitting through yet another 2
meter club meeting (with some HF ops attending) listening to "them"
bicker about the repeater, the control codes, the location, yada yada yada!
