[SOC] Off Topic: Ideas for club programs

EZNEC antenna modelling. Have members give the dimensions of their
antennas to the presenter in advance, so he can work up the analysis and
then just pop it up on the screen. The presenter can also work up in
advance improvements to those antennas and show the members how a cheap
and small change can improve their antennas. Makes a personal and useful
program.

I usually put together a Radio Jeopardy quiz once a year. It's a heck of
a lot of work though. Choose a half dozen categories and come up with
easy-to-hard questions each worth 10 to 50 points (or whatever). The
first person who comes up with the correct answer gets the points. Award
crummy-to-nice prizes at the end. (One of this list members won the
wooden spoon last time we did this.)

Go around the table and have each member tell about something
radio-related they are doing. It can be something they are having a
problem with and this gives them a chance to ask for help without
directly asking for help. Or it can be something new and entirely different.

Sometimes those quiet guys around the meeting table are just waiting to
be invited to talk, and the ones who always talk are wishing for a time
they can shut up....
