Nope,
As you say...50 Ohm co-ax from the K2 to the ATU, then twin feeder all the
way from the ATU to the top of the mast where the dipole divides.
This then makes it a balanced doublet, which should then tune up on just
about any frequency, not just the G5RVs harmonically-related 'slots'.
Using a balanced ATU will also filter out a lot of local electrical noise.
Try to have good insulation where the twin goes through the wall/window etc
to the outside world.
