[SOC] Antenna matching

Hi Paul,

To be totally First Class on a SOC reflector, I would toss that G5RV
in the neighbor's yard and put up a dipole/inverted vee and feed the
antenna with ladderline, all the way to the shack and forget all that
impedance matching gunk of the G5RV. What you are gaining
with the G5RV system is punishing you on the other bands......
............I am trying to be really second class here, guys!

Have you opened up that Redifon tuner, with a bnc input and
2 terminals (are they binding post?) and a ground connection
that sure sounds like it has an internal balun. If that is true,
then the two terminals would hook up to your ladderline
and Leave the ground unattached. Do you have a schematic
on the Redifon? Open that little box and see what is inside!

Let us know what is inside the tuner box!
