[SOC] cricket injuries

The fielding positions on a cricket pitch have a number of somewhat bizarre
names.

Silly mid-on
Silly mid-off
Silly point
and so forth.

That's why the players wear helmets and boxes.

The ball is small, hard (just over 5 ounces) and liable to do damage.

That's what makes it a game.

When I used to play we used tennis balls for practice. It allows you to
develop technique without the fear of being injured.
