That made me smile but in these 'politically correct' times I'm not allowed
use the term 'Paki-shop'.

Ooops, I just did it.

These people are amongst the hardest working that I have ever encountered.
Running a shop from before dawn to well after dusk is not a light task.

Their kids seem to be amongst the brightest and most hard working in our
schools (far more so than the indigenous white Anglo-Saxon population).

The immigrant first and second (and maybe third) generation population from
the Indian sub-continent contribute massively to the British way of life.

Disregarding all the other positive aspects there's the wonderful *FOOD*.

There is a small, bigotted part of the population here that puts them down
but I'm not part of it.

Welcome. I'm glad you're here. I'm a first generation immigrant too but
because my mother is Danish, nobody notices.

And finally, when I had a short heart scare a couple of years ago I was
treated by an A&E consultant of evident Asian descent. I'm immensely
grateful to her.

The best bits about the UK are far, far better than the worst.
