We have a lurcher bitch, Missie. A lurcher is a cross between deerhound and
greyhound.

Looks like a shaggy beige greyhound.

She is a real dog. With no consience whatsoever. Her only concern is not to
get caught. Leave food out and the dog loose at your peril.

One anecdote: Last Christmas, mother visted and brought a Christmas cake. It
was uniced so I volunteered to make the icing.

The icing ended up with the consistency of re-inforced concrete and caused
one or two dental problems.

A quarter of the cake was consumed but then left out in the dining room and
the door left open.

When discovered, said cake had been hollowed out to the extent of one
lurcher's tongue length. The icing survived.

Missie cowered.

We laughed.
