[SOC] memory

Hi All,

I have a couple of medical problems that one or two of you are aware of in
detail.

Anyhow, I attended a medical interview and one of the tests was for short
term memory. The quack gave me three words to remember for a short time.

These were "pencil", "apple" and "bucket".

I cheated. I instantly constructed a mental image of an apple pierced
through the middle by the pencil and sitting in the bucket and filed it
away.

When challenged to repeat the words a few minutes later, the image was
immediately there and I could respond instantly.

Thing is, I'm not sure that the technique I used tested that part of the
brain that the test was designed for..

Made me smile though and I managed it whilst being twice over the legal
alchohol limit for driving. (That bit, I'm not proud of...)
